Meet Amy MeyerAmy is an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor and National Certified Counselor who counsels children and adolescents, ages 2-18, and their families from her private practice in Frisco, Texas. Area of SpecialtyAmy is a seasoned child and adolescent therapist who attributes her success in this area to her skilled training, extensive work experience and her own life knowledge as a parent to two daughters. EducationAmy received her graduate degree and specialization in child therapy from the University of North Texas, whose acclaimed graduate counseling program is widely recognized as the number one counseling program in Texas and 15th in the U.S., according to U.S. News and World Report. To become a Licensed Professional Counselor, Amy attained a master's degree in counseling, and she completed more than 2,000 hours of supervised practice before passing the Texas State Board of Examiners of Licensed Professional Counselors exam in 1995. She received her designation as a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor after completing an additional 150 hours of play therapy instruction and undergoing 500 hours of supervised play therapy sessions. Amy continues to participate in ongoing peer and supervisory consultation groups.
