Meet Sheri L. ShulenbergerSheri currently provides therapy for children and adolescents, ages 2-18, and their families in private practice. Sheri has worked in both private and non-profit settings and has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families struggling with a variety of issues. Sheri discovered counseling and the power of Play Therapy from personal experience with her own daughter. While attending UNT which has the world's largest center for Play Therapy and one of the nation's top rated counseling programs; Sheri trained as a therapist at the Collin County Children's Advocacy Center in Plano, TX. During her training she worked with children, adolescents, adults and non-offending family members who have experienced trauma as the result of abuse. Sheri has volunteered at the Betty Ford Center Five Star Kids Program working with children of alcoholics/addicts and their families. Sheri is passionate about leading Created by God, a human sexuality workshop for 5th and 6th grade children through the Methodist Church. In addition, Sheri works as an Admission Counselor at Glen Oaks Hospital, specializing in mental health and chemical dependency care, in Greenville, TX. Sheri believes within you is the power for change. She will accept, be open, sensitive, and listen empathetically to you. It is through the therapeutic relationship you and Sheri will work together to help achieve your goals for positive living. Sheri is originally from Oklahoma but has lived in Texas over 20 years and considers the metroplex home. She is married; has a daughter, six step children, a son-in-law, three daughters-in-law, and two step grandchildren. Sheri enjoys reading, walking, working in the yard, remodeling her home in a historic district, spending time with her children and two rescue dogs. Sheri accepts cash or checks for services and can provide you with appropriate documentation for you to file with your insurance company. |
